Scott is the minister at
Newton Mearns New Church.
He studied theology at Aberdeen University, Westminster Theological Seminary (Philadelphia) and Highland Theological College/Reformed Theological Seminary (Jackson, Mississippi).
Scott married his classmate at Westminster Seminary. Anita is originally from Hong Kong and they have two married daughters and a grandson.
Scott was ordained by the Church of Scotland in 1996 and has served three congregations in the Church of Scotland. While serving the Church of Scotland in the Bahamas he led the three congregations of the Bahamas into The Evangelical Presbyterian Church, USA (The EPC). Scott returned to Scotland in 2011 to become minister of Maxwell Mearns Castle Church (Church of Scotland).
In November 2023, Scott, with a number of elders and congregation, formed
Newton Mearns New Church.

Alastair is our Session Clerk. He came to faith 38 years ago and has served as an elder for 25 years in the Church of Scotland.
As one of the founding trustees and elders of
Newton Mearns New Church Alastair is excited about how the Lord will use our church to proclaim the gospel in Newton Mearns, south Glasgow and beyond.
As Session Clerk Alastair supports the elders in their oversight and governance of all aspects of church life.

Pauline is a gifted and popular coordinator of activities with children aged 0-11 and their families, always looking to introduce them to and nurture them in the Christian faith. Pauline oversees and helps out at various groups and events that take place at
Newton Mearns New Church and at one of our neighbouring churches, Maxwell Mearns Castle. Pauline brings creativity, energy, enthusiasm and a host of new ideas to engage everyone in growing faith - from babies to grandparents!

With many varied responsibilities Jacob especially works with our 11 to 25 year olds.
His aim is to give our young people the opportunity to investigate and encounter the person and claims of Jesus Christ.
Jacob has completed the Cornhill Training Course and was on staff at Grace Church, Dundee prior to joining Maxwell Mearns Castle Church in 2022, then moving with the majority of that congregation to
Newton Mearns New Church.
